Pac 12 Sean Miller Investigation

You must admit the Pac 12 gets around to it eventually.  The IT?  The apparent targeting of Basketball Coach Sean Miller during the Pac 12 Tournament in Las Vegas. Did it Happen?  Was a ‘hit’ on Miller issued and was it carried out in a game.  We shall find out.

The Pac-12 has done the right thing in hiring an outside legal firm to investigate officiating issues during the conference tournament, including glib remarks by former officials coordinator Ed Rush that promised rewards if one of his crew penalized Arizona basketball coach Sean Miller.

USC Beware! It is Halloween weekend,  But will it be a a ‘trick or Treat.”

Unbeaten Oregon is headed to the sold-out Coliseum next week, its high-powered offense and possibly ESPN‘s “College GameDay” crew in tow.

College football observers have anticipated the matchup since December, when USC quarterback announced he would return for a final season — and a chance to play for a national title.

So here are the 10th-ranked Trojans, in the desert on Saturday to play a 4-3 Arizona team that, like Oregon, runs a high-scoring, no-huddle spread attack.

“A lot of people will look at this as a trap game,” USC linebacker Dion Bailey said. “We definitely cannot look past this team.”

Not if , who’ve already lost once and sit ninth in the Bowl Championship Series standings, hope to meet Oregon with the chance to make a run at the Pac-12 championship and BCS title-game consideration.

Arizona has a history of playing USC close and in 2009 won at the Coliseum, 21-17, in Pete Carroll’s last regular-season game as the Trojans’ coach. USC won last year’s meeting, 48-41.

But it’s tough to get a true read on the 2012 Wildcats.

Under first-year Coach , they defeated Toledo, Oklahoma State and South Carolina State.

But then they squandered numerous red-zone opportunities in a 49-0 loss at Oregon. They lost by three points to unbeaten Oregon State and on the road in overtime against then-No. 18 Stanford.

Last week, the Wildcats routed Washington, 52-17.

Rodriguez graduated in 1986 from West Virginia, where he was a three-year letterwinner as a defensive back in 1982-84. He added a master’s degree from Salem in 1987. He is a native of Grant Town, W. Va., and graduated from North Marion High School. Rich and his wife, Rita, have two children, Raquel and Rhett.
