Pac 12 Football Teams DirecTV
A Hail Mary Pass? Would that work? It will take more than that for the Pac 12 Football and
DirecTV to have Saturdays games on the satellite provider. Maybe it should more like the Utah Ute fans charging the field after the BYU game. Or the Washington Fan’s last night with their upset win over Stanford. Something to get their attention – to have both sides come to an agreement to get the Pac 12 Network up and running on DirecTV.
You have to wonder just HOW MANY Customers DirecTV has lost because they, so far, have refused to negotiate in “good faith” with the Pac 12. Eventually, it will happen. College football and Pac 12 football want it now!
Washington, D.C. (September 28, 2012) -- DIRECTV sports fans: Hoping that your TV provider will add the Pac 12 Network prior to this weekend’s college football action?
Well, according to Pac 12 Commissioner Larry Scott, landing a deal before Saturday would take the best Hail Mary pass you’ve ever seen.
“There’s no sign it’s going to happen anytime soon,” Scott said on the Seattle-based Dave Softy Mahler radio show yesterday.
The two sides have engaged in a war of words since the Pac 12 Network launched late last month. DIRECTV has suggested it wants to carry the channel as a separate subscription channel that would require a monthly fee. However, the Pac 12 Network would prefer the channel be included in a sports programming pack that would be seen by more viewers.
DIRECTV has not made a public statement about the controversy in recent days other than to note at its web site, DIRECTVPromise.com, that many of the Pac 12 games can be seen on other networks such as FX and ESPN.
Everyone at the High school football game last night in Long Beach was complaining about not being able to watch USC last week. Now I can’t watch UCLA just when they were starting to look like watching. I have AT&T so it looks like I will just keet watching TCU, Miami, Notre Dame etc.
