Thanks to a new media deal and seven conference networks it won’t be too hard to find one of the four new coaches out West with each bringing a unique brand of offense into the fold (well, Jim Mora will be doing the same on defense at least, with former Arizona State offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone running things on that side of the ball). Leach takes his Air Raid offense to prime time on Thursday night against his alma mater BYU while RichRod opens with Toledo for some late night scoring on Saturday. Norm Chow Gone from Utah

...  University of Hawaii administration has authorized athletic director Jim Donovan to negotiate a contract to make Norm Chow the next Warriors football coach. Chow emerged as the top choice from three finalists after a meeting of key UH officials Monday night, according to an official familiar with the situation but not yet authorized to speak publicly. A press conference could be held Thursday, depending on negotiations and Chow’s travel availability. The 65-year old Chow, who is the offensive coordinator at Utah, could receive up to a five-year contract. Salary figures and other details remain to be worked out. Chow, a graduate of Punahou School, has spent 38 years in college coaching at Brigham Young, North Carolina State, USC, UCLA and Utah, but this will be his first head coaching job. He has also been an offensive coordinator in the NFL. He has coached multiple Heisman Trophy winners and been part of three national championship teams. Chow and his agent did not immediately return calls seeking comment.
