It’s Bradford for two reasons. First off, Sutton remains one of the nation’s most disruptive defensive presences, and while the duo presents a “pick your poison” proposition, nearly every offensive coordinator ASU will face this fall has Sutton atop their threat list. Teams will be game-planning to limit Sutton, and while Sutton proved he’s more than up to the task, this should allow Bradford a bit more room to run. jQuery.noConflict(); jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery('body').data('videoCriteria', {'dom':'domVideoResults5dS3Ibe_SMFk600', 'q':'', 'username':'', 'feed':'', 'time':'', 'type':'7', 'category':'', 'playlist':'', 'pageNumber':'1', 'nb_display':'36', ...

Brian Johnson the Youngest OC in College Football

...  12 Football Teams Utah Utes Brian Johnson¬† A couple of hours after the biggest win in University of Utah football history, Brian Johnson found himself loitering on Poydras Street outside the Superdome, holding the trophy he’d just earned as the Sugar Bowl‘s most outstanding player. A stranger approached, and asked, “Hey, weren’t you the quarterback?” Not quite four years later, Utah’s new offensive coordinator knows many are wondering the same thing. Utah opens the season Thursday night against Northern Colorado with the nation’s youngest coordinator. Yes, Johnson is the same guy who led the Utes to a 31-17 win against Alabama in the 2009 Sugar Bowl. At 25, he is barely older than the players he’ll call plays for. (He’s the same age, in fact, as senior fullback Max Moala.) “It’s obviously a very unique story,” he says. “I get that ...

Week 1 for PAC 12 Football

...  things to watch, no conference will have as much fun in the coming years as the Pac-12 will with coaches like Rich Rodriguez and the lovable pirate Mike Leach taking over at Arizona and Washington State this year. Thanks to a new media deal and seven conference networks it won’t be too hard to find one of the four new coaches out West with each bringing a unique brand of offense into the fold (well, Jim Mora will be doing the same on defense at least, with former Arizona State offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone running things on that side of the ball). Leach takes his Air Raid offense to prime time on Thursday night against his alma mater BYU while RichRod opens with Toledo for some late night scoring on Saturday. Speaking of points, Oregon will be breaking in new starting quarterback Marcus Mariota by hosting a new head coach who knows a thing or two about offense in Gus Malzahn and Arkansas State. Those around the program love that Mariota has the ‘it’ ...
