SALT LAKE CITY – Tight end Joseph Fauria said UCLA was high on the mountain top after beating Cal and Arizona State the past two weeks. The problem with being at the top of such places, it snows a lot.

Utah’s running game and rush defense beat up the Bruins, who were ultimately killed off by two second-half turnovers and a plethora of penalties.
The Utes gained 224 rushing yards, averaging 5.5 yards a carry and becoming the fifth team this season to top 200 yards rushing against the Bruins. UCLA came into Saturday ranked No. 86 nationally against the run.
“We always think going in we have a good plan and have things fit,” said defensive coordinator Joe Tresey. “It’s been an extreme disappointment.”
Utah tailback John White rushed for 167 yards and scored three times, including twice in the third quarter to extend the Utes’ lead to 21-3.
